Ole Bull - Purfling the Top Plate

I have now finished installing the purfling on the top plate. The process is the same as described for purfling the back plate below, except that the width of the purfling on the top plate is much wider that the purfling on the back plate -- over 2mm in some areas.

Here is a photo of the top plate with purfling installed (note that the darker areas are just tanned areas that haven't been planed off yet -- it will disappear when arching is completed):

Now, the outline of the plates will be finalized to match the worn outline of the original, and the arching will be refined. I will post an update on those subjects within the next couple of days.
