Back to Oberlin

I had the opportunity to visit Gregg at the VSA Violinmaking Workshop at Oberlin College yesterday. Photos and updates from Gregg's time at that workshop have been posted on the Alf Studios blog.

The purpose of my visit was to participate in a violin listening session, during which 24 violins (including my Ole Bull) were played by violinist Jing Qiao, who is studying at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and 5 violas were played by Jonah Sirota, violist of the Chiara String Quartet and Artist-in-Residence at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Each violin and viola was rated in various categories by the audience members.

Starting Monday, everyone will be in the Alf Studios workshop again after a busy couple months of travel and workshops. My next two instruments will be started next week. Stay tuned for updates!
